Who doesn’t love a Minecraft flying robot floating around their base? This design makes good use of hoppers, grindstones and blast furnaces. When fueled, the blast furnace can also produce a reddish orange glowing eyes effect!

Step 1:
Using a temporary block on the ground (or however high you want the robot to be), put a hopper on it before using Shift+Click to place a stair block on top of the hopper.

Step 2:
Now, use another temporary block to place an upside down stairs above the first one (refer to picture below).

Step 3:
Go behind the structure, and position the final two stair blocks on both sides of the robot. Make sure that they’re in the correct orientation as shown below.

Step 4:
Then, place the blast furnace on the middle stairs, followed by grindstones on both sides of the robot.

Step 5:
Last but not least, insert andesite walls beside the blast furnace and finish up by putting trapdoors on the walls. To make the robot eyes glow, insert fuel into the blast furnace (you may have to refill this periodically to maintain the effect).

Variations:

  • Mess around with different block combinations and arrangements to find your desired robot design.
  • Add details to your robot using blocks such as fences, walls, end rods, redstone torches, trapdoors or even buttons.
